Aerial view of the Ford Motor Company, Mercury Plant site located at 8900 E. Washington Boulevard in Pico Rivera; view is looking southwest. The plant, still under construction but on the verge of completion, is located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard (vertically, left) and Washington Boulevard (horizontally, forefront); Paramount Boulevard runs vertically at right, and Rio Hondo parallels (visible at upper right). The 157-acre manufacturing facility was dedicated on May 6, 1948; the plant closed in 1980 and was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982. Photograph dated March 11, 1957.
