Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of First Street, looking east from Hill Street in Los Angeles, ca.1884. The unpaved road is marked by wheel tracks and lined with what appear to be mostly wood-paneled residential buildings, both houses and larger two-story apartment buildings. Mixed in among these are many trees and most of the houses are surrounded by low wooden fences. There is a large building with a spire on top at the left of the picture.
