Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated November 30, 1956 reads, "Workmen put in first section of pavement on westbound lanes of Sherman Way at Etiwanda avenue in Reseda as westward traffic is rerouted temporarily to flow on other side of divider. Job will cost $65,000 and will be completed in three months. Eastbound side also will be repaved. Work extends 1,200 feet east to Lindley avenue. Present dirt divider will be replaced with narrower asphaltic traffic island."
