Description
This photo is a close up of the remarks section of a execution report contained in the Folsom Prison Death Book. The prisoner, Samuel J. Raber, was executed Jan. 15, 1915, following a first degree murder conviction. The remarks indicate Mr. Raber and a his confederate, Drumgoole, tried to rob a woman, Cheerif de St. Maurice, known at the Queen of the Underworld." The murder occurred during the robbery. Raber's confederate died serving a life sentence at San Quentin Prison.
