Opening day at the Pico Union Branch Library located at 1030 S. Alvarado Street. This photo shows a large group of children and library officials, posed for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Among them are: Library Commissioner Robert Chick, President of the Library Board of Commissioners, Lucy McCoy; Los Angeles Mayor, James K. Hahn (holding ribbon); and Councilman for the 1st District, Ed Reyes (cutting ribbon). Photograph dated 2004.
