Description
Used in the exhibit "Over Our Heads: Los Angeles Goes From Stargazing to Moon Landing."
Snipe attached to photograph reads, “Executive Pastry Chef Ernest Mueller puts finishing touches on sugar table decorations he created for state dinner honoring astronauts. Miniature moonmen are made of marzipan.” The state dinner was held on August 13, 1969 at the Century Plaza Hotel in honor of the three astronauts who successfully executed the Apollo 11 mission to land on the Moon.
