Description
Photograph caption dated October 2, 1957 reads "Glenn Savage, of Broadloom City, supervises unloading of Croft Carpet Mill's truck that set a new transcontinental trucking record. J. C. White, driver, claimed the new record after driving more than 2,400 miles in 59 hours actual driving time from Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., to Tarzana. The truck, as large as a railroad box car, was loaded to capacity with over 7,500 yards of carpets rushed here for Broadloom City's gigantic parking lot sale."
