Description
Photograph of several men in an outdoor tavern patio, some apparently drunk on the ground in Oakland City, Alameda, ca.1900. Sitting on fallen chairs in the foreground, two men in hats stare into the camera with glass bottles at their feet. Right of center, two men with mugs in their hands sit on the ground. The man to the right droops his head and appears to be quite drunk. Behind the men at center are three other men, one sitting at a table at left with his feet up and several bottles in front of him. Behind the scene is a fenced area, which fades into a foliage-strewn background.
