Photograph caption dated August 31, 1962 reads, "Do's and don'ts of social etiquette are demonstrated by members of the Discuss-and-Do Club of the San Fernando Valley Youth Foundation, Van Nuys. Members of the co-educational group are taught social graces which include all facets of dating, grooming, restaurant manners, job etiquette and other items of interest to the club members. Bear-huggers, upper left photo, Kathy Stoddard, 14, Van Nuys, and Mike Palmer, president, 15 1/2, of Van Nuys, show first how not to act or dress on a dance floor, and in second photo show proper way to hold girl. The door swings open and whoops, Marc Agricola, 17, Reseda, leaves Sharon Ancell, 14, Reseda, behind. Proper way is shown in upper right photo as he opens door for her to enter first. In lower photo, Rick Gill, 18, Encino, looks on disapprovingly as Sue Gantinbein, 14, Reseda, puts on lipstick in public. Mrs. William Spurlock, adult adviser, (bottom right) says powder room is proper place for grooming."
