Photograph caption dated June 5, 1961 reads, "The California banner was presented George Montrose, 8949 Reseda Blvd., Northridge, at the Northridge Stampede Grounds Friday by Robert Diehl, 10847 Nestle Ave., Northridge. The presentation began a three-day weekend program which included crowning of a Stampede queen. In the background are Mrs. Cecil Wiggins, 9343 White Oak Ave., and Mrs. Robert Diehl, 10847 Nestle Ave., both Northridge."
