Photograph caption dated November 29, 1988 reads, "Five cars were gutted and windows shattered yesterday in an abandoned building at 620 Colorado Ave. in Santa Monica after an electrical transformer box exploded. The explosion, heard seven blocks away, severed overhead electrical lines that fell on the cars, igniting them. No one was injured, police said. The cause of the blast is undetermined."
