This is side A of the third tape, from the second day, of the annual Drucker Symposium of 1979. Bill Dill is the moderator, and Worth Loomis is the panelist. The topic for the day is managing productivity. Drucker finishes his talk followed by a brief period for questions. He states that only rich countries can afford a welfare population, poor countries need people who produce. Drucker goes on to discuss different business practices and how they relate to productivity in India, Indonesia, Germany, China, and France. He also says government is the central cause of inflation, and discusses the importance of interaction between employees in non-work settings. There is no side b for this tape.
