In the background, the Napa River is visible extending from left to right. At center, a large boat can be seen. The boat consists of three levels with several windows lining the sides. Three masts can be seen on the ship near a central smokestack. To the far left, two small lifeboats can be seen near the top deck. An additional lifeboat can be seen in the water with two people. Additional people can be seen on the bottom deck of the ship. Further in the background at right, a small wooden building can be seen on a pier above the water.
