Title transcribed from item. Signed on mount: "© Frederick Monsen." Monsen's typed label on back says: "Zuni Pueblo. New Mexico. Zuni, the popular name of a Pueblo tribe, constituting the Zunian linguistic family, residing in a single permanent pueblo known by the same name, on the north bank of the upper Zuni river in Western New Mexico. They were visited by the Coronado expedition in 1540 and afterwards all Spanish caravan trains from Old Mexico passed that way. Photograph. The best potter in Zuniland."
