Title supplied by cataloger. In 1983, this depot was recognized by the Cultural Heritage Committee of the City of Yorba Linda. A plaque by the front door reads, "Pacific Electric Depot - Depot was built by the Pacific Electric Railroad in 1911. Fruit was shipped out by the carload while fertilizer, lumber, machinery and other supplies were delivered here. The first means of public transportation, the 'big red car', took townsfolk to Los Angeles nine times a day. As passengers approached, conductor Ben Foss would shout 'Yorba Linda, capital of the world!'" Decades after rail service to and from this depot was discontinued, the building was redesigned to accommodate a restaurant, still in operation.; The train tracks have since been removed. Looking across train tracks towards the Yorba Linda depot, located at 18132 Imperial Highway, serving both the La Habra-Yorba Linda Line (1911-1938) of the Pacific Electric Railway Company and the Southern Pacific Railroad Company.
