Description
Photograph of a view looking south over the San Gabriel Valley from the portico of the Raymond Hotel in Pasadena, ca.1905. Four light posts--large romanesque columns topped with frosted glass domes--and rows of small plants line the walkway leading away from the entrance of the hotel. At the end of the walkway are two potted plants, one on each side. Across a narrow dirt road and behind a row of small palm trees, the tree-filled San Gabriel Valley stretches out as far as can be seen until it hits the base of a distant mountain range.
