View of a building on a corner with houses extending beyond photo on both sides; short side faces left with 3 arch windows on 2nd floor and 5 arched windows on long sides; quoins decorate the corner and balcony railings encircle second floor; on 1st floor is a business "The Serv-Rite Co." that faces both sides of the street; a sign for "Rainier Beer" is on right side;cars parked in front on both sides and on left a man is at sidewalk.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"Building erected in 1858. by the Zoller family.'Butchers & Grocers'."
