Dedicated by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1950, the Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Memorial includes a 1000-year-old sarcophagus (center) containing the only portion of Gandhi�s ashes outside of his native India. Visitors are seen near the golden lotus archway at the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, July 1980. The Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Memorial is partially visible behind the archway (right of center).
