This is a photograph of "the Catholic Mission of Chiklung [now Zhigong]. This Mission was built by Fr. Hodgins, Maryknoll Missioner, who died soon after. The gateway, surrounding wall and the brick stair way are improvements by the present pastor, Fr. G. Bauer. In order to obtain this picture the photographer had to climb the roof of a neighboring house. On the surrounding old buildings everyone can see the ravages of the floods occurring here. Many a time the Mission, where souls are saved, has become the saving island for flood refugees. "
