Part of a dancer's regalia, this headdress (copil in Náhuatl , or penacho in Spanish) is made from fabric, leather, dyed ostrich feathers, pheasant feathers, and other materials. In the center of the crown is a three-dimensional image of a skull, possibly representing Mictlantecuhtli.
