Description
Shown is a menu for the 6th Annual Football All-Star Banquet. As the front of the menu states, the event took place on December 2, 1952 at the Senator Hotel, located in downtown Sacramento. The annual banquet honored Class A players of C.K. McClatchy High School, Sacramento High School, Grant Union High School, and Christian Brothers High School. The event was broadcast over the radio by KFBK and had about 300 people in attendance. One speaker at the event was world heavyweight boxing champion Rocky Marciano, who had been in Sacramento to referee a boxing event in the Memorial Auditorium located on J Street. The mascots created by Walt Disney for both KFBK and The Sacramento Bee could be seen on the top-right corner of the front of the menu.
