Description
This is a series of letters and the report, "Typical Business Problems Symptomatic of a Need for the Development of Alternative Theories of the Business", which they correspond to. The report is written by Peter Drucker for Mel Hurni. Its purpose is to illustrate 21 common issues which require a change in the "theory of the business" being used, rather then simply improving efficiency. The report includes several specific examples of businesses in situations that either made appropriate adjustments or went unresolved. It is more to indicate the size of the work to be done than to actually do the work. Drucker hopes it will eventually be useful to Operations Research and Synthesis.
