Description
Photograph caption dated June 8, 1977 reads, "Dr. H.C. Hsiung, UCLA professor and principal of the Chinese School which meets on Sundays at the Mandarin Baptist Church L.A. Mission school, watches as students study the written Mandarin language. There are many schools in the Southland." The Mandarin Baptist Church, later renamed the Chinese Baptist Church of West Los Angeles, is located at 1925 Sawtelle Blvd. in West Los Angeles.
