The man is Earl Messer owner of Industrial Realtor located at 724 East Union in Pasadena. His home residence is 251 Arbolada Drive in Arcadia. The portrait was ordered by Al Johns, publicity man for the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association of Tournament of Roses at 181 South Los Robles Avenue in Pasadena. The photograph was possibly taken at the J. Allen Hawkins Studio.
