Description
Exterior view of the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, located at 540 S. Commonwealth Ave. It appears that the finials, damaged by the 1994 earthquake, are being re-positioned; a large crane can be seen placing one of the finials back on its stand. A couple of lanes have been blocked to traffic while this task is underway. The church, historic cultural monument #706, was designed by architects Allison and Allison and built from 1930-1931. Photo dated: August 19, 2005. See image 00063173 for additional view of finials.
