Nicole Krauss discusses her book, “The History of Love.” She begins by explaining the concept of the book, which is that all the characters in the book are inter-connected and forever changed by having read the same book, “The History of Love.” She then discusses the plot, which follows several characters including the character Leo who has lost the love of his life Alma who has moved on to a life and family that does not include him. Krauss goes on to share some works that have influenced her own writing such as, David Grossman’s “See Under: LOVE” and to explore the influence her grandparents and their Holocaust experiences had on her and her decision to become a writer. Later she discusses her writing and rewriting process. Also in this interview Krauss reads aloud from her work.
