Photograph caption date stamped February 3, 1959 reads "The camera catches five outstanding players for the Valley League that were honored today as members of the first team selected by the Helms Athletic Foundation's All-Southern California Board of Basketball. From left are Bruce Loughner, North Hollywood High School, guard; Gail Johnson [pictured], Van Nuys, guard; Roger Head, North Hollywood, forward; Roger Marshall, San Fernando, forward, and Jack Hirsch, Van Nuys center. Hirsch was named player-of-the-year and was a member of the all-city tournament first team." See images 00158998 through 00159002 for all photos in this series.
