Description
Robin Maxwell discusses her novel, “The Queen’s Bastard.” She begins by explaining that her book is about the possible love child between Queen Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley. She talks about how she founds rumors of this child in history books, and fictionalized it into the story. She describes other historical fiction books she’s written about English queens. Maxwell talks about Queen Elizabeth’s decision to never marry so she wouldn’t have to give up her power. She ends the interview by discussing how she did research for the novel, and that she lived in a house that Queen Elizabeth owned.
