The former Hazel Glab (nee Belford), whose escapades in the late 1920s through the mid-1930s was the stuff that newspaper headlines were made of, has once again resurfaced in court. This time suing her current husband Alfred M. Bridge for divorce, accusing him of cruelty. Mrs. Bridge (then Glab) was sent to Tehachapi Women's Prison in 1936 under a second-degree murder conviction. The state charged she shot and killed John I. Glab, a wealthy retired Chicago Druggist, in front of his Van Nuys estate just four months after their marriage. Prior to her incarceration, she was convicted of forging a will in an effort to get the $400,000 estate of wealthy fiance´ and realty owner, Albert Cheney, who died under mysterious circumstances. She was paroled November 29, 1941, and on July 4, 1946 married Alfred M. Bridge, 61, a Hollywood character actor. They separated in 1953. Pictured is Mr. Albert M. Bridge, 61, who is seeking an early trial on his counter suit for divorce from wife, Mrs. Hazel Glab Bridge. Mr. Bridge contends he has a heart condition which leaves him only two years to live, and the suspense of waiting for trial threatens to speed his death. Both accuse each other of cruelty. Bridge, a Hollywood character actor, married Hazel Glab in 1946 - five years after she was released from Tehachapi Women's Prison.
