Photograph article dated July 3, 1965 partially reads, "Byron Elvin Pierce was arraigned in Superior Court yesterday on charges arising from the kidnap-mutilation of a 7-year-old Canoga Park boy. Superior Court Judge David W. Williams ordered Pierce, 23, to appear Friday to enter a plea to one count each of kidnaping, assault with intent to commit murder, crimes against children, sexual perversion and mayhem." Photograph caption reads, “Arraigned - Byron Elvin Pierce, 23, was arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday on charges arising from the kidnap-mutilation of a 7-year-old Canoga Park boy. Pierce is scheduled to appear in court July 9 to face a variety of charges."
