State Route 111 runs from Calexico to Palm Springs through the Coachella Valley. It begins at a junction with Interstate 10 near the foot of San Jacinto Peak east of the San Gorgonio Pass. As it continues south, it becomes a surface street as it enters Palm Springs. It serves as a links to every desert resort city, such as Palm Springs, Palm Desert and La Quinta, in the valley.
Northern Coachella Valley; looking west. The visible area is from approximately La Quinta at the left (south) to about Palm Springs at the right (north), and is located between Highway 111 and 99.
