Description
Workers discovered fossilized elephant bones while constructing an extension to Figueroa St. near the Southwest Museum. Mark Harrington, archeologist and curator of the Southwest Museum, is part of the group, left, examining a find. Workmen shovel dirt into a truck parked on the street as other workers dig the terraces. Photo dated: Sep. 11, 1931.
