Description
Protesters rally outside the Encino Community Center. Many in the community were upset when Caltrans proposed building a double-decker segment on top of the 101 Freeway, claiming that such an expansion would mean the destruction of their homes. Their protests carried the day, and Caltrans discarded the plan. Some of the picket signs read, "Don't condemn our property", "Caltrans don't take our homes of businesses!" "Caltrans hands off Ventura Fwy", and "No double decking!" Photograph dated September 12, 2002.
