The studio includes its own kitchen and bathroom. The sleeping quarters consist of redwood sleeping baskets at the rooftop, with appropriate protection from the elements. The Friends of the Schindler House (FOSH) purchased the home in 1980, and a few years later, the structure was fully restored. In 1994, FOSH entered into an agreement with the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art, Vienna to oversee the property, which came to be known as the MAK Center; FOSH owns the property and the museum oversees finances and programming for the center.
