Description
Detroit: Fania Davis, sister of Angela Davis, speaks to approximately 50 members of the Michigan Committee to Free Angela Davis at an outdoor rally in downtown Detroit 12/16. After Fania spoke the group marched to the Wayne County Jail chanting 'Free Angela Davis' and 'Free the Detroit 16'. Miss Davis is in a New York prison fighting extradition to California where she faces charges of murder, kidnapping and conspiracy. The 'Detroit 16' are being held in the Wayne County Jail as a result of a disturbance between police and Black Panthers last 10/24 after a Detroit policeman was fatally shot.
