Description
The Cal Poly Women's Club operated from 1946 to 1998 as a support group for the wives of faculty and staff at California State Polytechnic State, Pomona, then known as California State Polytechnic College, Kellogg - Voorhis Unit. The women's club held regular meetings, charity events, fashion shows, etc. They were also responsible for planning an annual banquet held for faculty. The club established the Student Loan Fund and the Cal Poly Women's Club Scholarship. Prior to 1961, the university only admitted men and the club established to loan fund in an effort to provide aid to the families of students. Later, the scholarship was developed and awarded to female students. This scrapbook documents the history of the club from 1968-1972. The scrapbook captures a time of transition, as the university added more women faculty and integrated female students.
