Photograph caption dated March 8, 1979 reads, "Two children were pulled to safety from this burning station wagon in downtown yesterday." Victor Herrera, the 2-year-old boy, was burned to death after the station wagon caught fire as a result of the Herrera's older bother and another boy playing with matches. The tragedy took place in the parking lot outside of an apartment complex (later demolished) at 706 S. Garland Avenue.
