Photograph shows incarcerees being interviewed by a female employee of the Farm Security Administration in a control station at Visalia, California. Caption on album page: "Evacuees, particularly in agricultural districts, were given assistance and advice by the Farm Security Administration as to the disposition of agricultural properties in order to save the crops for the war effort and to protect the owners' interests. Arrangements were made for leasing or sale of their lands, though no sale was forced. Photo shows group being interviewed by this department in Control Station at Visalia, California, July 27, 1942." SIGNAL CORPS PHOTO 9CA-42-3371-PSF. The War Relocation Authority (WRA), together with the Wartime Civil Control Administration (WCCA), the Civil Affairs Division (CAD) and the Office of the Commanding General (OFG) of the Western Defense Command (WDC) operated together to segregate and house some 110,000 men women and children from 1942 to 1945. The collection contains documents and photographs relating to the establishment and administrative workings of the (WDC), the (WRA) and the (WCCA) for the year 1942.
