Description
Construction of Monastery annex as seen from east, Mount Wilson Observatory. The monastery served as a dormitory for visiting scientists. In this photograph, the construction of the annex's second-story walls is underway. Scaffolding surrounds the second-story walls, which are being created with poured concrete. Unidentified construction workers are on the roof the annex, and others are on the ground, amid the construction equipment. A concrete mixer sits near the annex building, seen behind the automobile in the lower right-hand corner, in the foreground.
