These photographs are contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Two views of Buena Vista Girls' Orphan Asylum at the northeast corner of Central and Waller, after a fire had gutted most of the 2nd and 3rd floors. Curious onlookers are walking past. A horse-drawn carriage is passing on Frederick; an automobile can be seen down Masonic. In the left distance, the Panhandle and the Cemeteries are visible.
View 1 (v1p178c). Caption: "Catholic School Masonic Ave & Friedrick [sic] St." Text at left: "This school was presided over [by] sisters."
View 2 (v2p153f). Caprion: "Catholic Girls Home Masonic Avenue & Frederick destroyed by fire 1915."
