It is one of many Black Christ images found throughout Central America and Mexico. Below the poster is a cross and campaign flyer that reads, "Vote like this. Our commitment is with God and seven million Guatemalans, 1982-1986." Carlos Castillo Armas founded the MLN in 1954 after a CIA-supported coup d'etat against democratically elected President Jacobo Árbenz.
