Description
Pictured is film composer, George Duning, working at his piano. The former jazz trumpeter and prolific composer of music for television and motion pictures scored such classic films as "From Here to Eternity" (1953) and "Picnic" (1955), for which he received Oscar nominations; he was also nominated in 1949, 1950 and 1956. Duning died in 2000 of cardiovascular disease at age 92 in San Diego. Photograph dated March 8, 1960.
