Photograph dated September 1, 1986 reads, "Investigators have collected wreckage from small plane, left, and Aerome´xico jet's tail section, right, at Long Beach Airport." The Piper PA-28-181 Archer collided in mid-air with Aerome´xico Flight 498, a DC-9, over Cerritos. The collision killed 67 people aboard both aircraft and 15 people on the ground.
