Description
Image of three vignettes of fights and battles between British soldiers, pilgrims, and Native American Indians, with Indians and colonists both shooting rifles and including a scene with Indians attacking colonists in a house and an outdoor scene with colonists firing rifles on Indians who have bows and arrows and tomahawks while a man is burned at the stake in the background; the poster advertises the historical melodrama "Metamora, or The Last of Wampanoags" by John A. Stone.
Probable date based on general show history; Edmund Collier first starred in the play in the 1886-1887 season. "Central / Litho. + Eng. Co. / N.Y. / No 195"--text, bottom left.
