Description
"On November 23, 1912, members of the San Juan Social and Improvement Club in Fair Oaks met for the first time and drafted a constitution. The constitution preamble read: 'Wheras experience has shown that a better time can be more readily acquired by the combination of effort than singly, we whose names are hereunto annexed have agreed to form an association known as the San Juan Social and Improvement Club, and for its government do hereby establish the following constitution." Digital scans of ephema collected for the book "Fair Oaks," published by Arcadia Publishing as part of the "Images of America" series. See page 92 of book.
