An issue titled as: Boys' Day. The document discusses the celebration of Boys' Day, on May 5th, by people of Japanese descent. The document describes how the day is spent and celebrated by the Japanese community and how it is different from the Doll Festival celebrated by girls on March, 3rd. The collection contains material used by Carey McWilliams in writing the book, Prejudice: Japanese Americans, symbol of racial intolerance (Little, Brown, 1944). It includes U.S. War Relocation Authority records, confidential reports, bibliographies, clippings and compilations of articles, legal papers, correspondence between McWilliams and Japanese American evacuees, relocation camp newspapers and other publications, two copies of his book, and five copies of the 1994 videocassette (40 min.), Something Strong Within.
