Text below photo: "The steamer 'California' decorated passing up the Bay off Meiggs Wharf, February 28, 1874. Decorated in honor of the anniversary of her first arrival in this harbor. The 'California' was the first steam-driven vessel to pass through the Golden Gate, February 28, 1849." View shows many men on deck. "Bradley & Rulofson written in lower left corner of photo.
