Group portrait of Miss Plumb with boys and girls wearing white, they are posed on the steps of the Hunter Memorial Church. Miss Isabella Plumb (1861-1944) was sent to Sialkot (1889) by Aberdeen Auxiliary of the Church of Scotland Women’s Association for Foreign Missions. The Women’s Associations main remit was the education of women in India and involved setting up girls’ schools and teaching in zenanas. Miss Plumb spent 48 years working with the women of India.
