Description: Sweepstakes winner of the Glendale parade on June 2, 1955, was this float entitled, "Verdugo Receives Land Grant." Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whitaker portrayed the Verdugos, and Clinton Rodda was the padre of San Gabriel Mission in 1784. The float was sponsored by the Tuesday Afternoon Club Juniors.
