Photograph caption dated August 25, 1961 reads "Young swimmers from Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks Pool listen to lifeguard Jack Doman on the megaphone as they ready themselves for the All-City championships tomorrow at Los Angeles Swim Stadium. Hundreds of paddlers from all over the city will compete, starting at 9 a.m."
